[Scene: Chandlers office, he is trying to find Rachel a date.]
Ross: Oh, wow! I should get going. I-I got a date tonight.
Phoebe: If shes no fun, why do you want to date her at all?
Ross: Well, I-I want to give her another chance, yknow? She lives so close. And, at the end of the date, the other time, she-she said something that wasif she was kidding was very funny. On the other hand, if she wasnt kidding, shes not fun, shes stupid, and kind of a racist.
Rachel: Oh, between you telling him that I wanted to have a fling and me putting out on the first dateoh, hes so gonna get the wrong idea.
Ross: The one with the cat. I gotta go, Ive got another date.
RACH: Well. [looks at watch] Woah, look at that! I gotta go, I gotta date. With a man. Um, OK, you guys have a really, uh, have a really good night and you two have a, uh, have a, uh, really good cat. [she leaves carrying her tray then comes back in] OK, we're not supposed to take these when we leave.
RACHEL: Oh that's so cute: Ross and Mike's first date. Is that going to be awkward? I mean, what are you guys going to talk about?
Ross: You're just jealous because you couldn't pull this off. Yeah, now if you'll excuse me (getting up and taking his coat) I have a date. (As he is walking out, everyone turns and stares at him) See? (To Joey) ALL eyes on ME!
Chandler: Sounds like a date to me.
Paul: So you still think you, um... might want that fifth date?
Joey: That wasn't a real date?! What the hell do you do on a real date?
Monica: Oh, so there is gonna be a fifth date?
Paul: No, it's, it's more of a fifth date kinda revelation.
Rachel: Dont say that I have no sentiment! (Starts to show Ross whats in the box.) This is a movie stub from our first date! This is an eggshell from the first time you made me breakfast in bed! (Holds up a bone) This is from the museum from the first time we were together. Okay, maybe I exchange gifts sometimes, but I keep the things that matter!
Monica: Oh, right, right. How was your date, 'Chand-lrr'?
Joey: Great story! But, I uh, I gotta go, I got a date with Andrea--Angela--Andrea... Oh man, (looks to Chandler)
Joey: Yeah, because it is slim pickings. I had this date last night: Yuck! But we should probably keep it down; she's still in the bedroom.
Chandler: To her face? Look its the end of the date, Im standing there, I know all shes waiting for is for me to say Ill call her and its just y'know, comes out. I cant help it, its a compulsion.
Ross: But is it technically a date if the other person doesn't show up?
Shelley: Do you want a date Saturday?
Monica: Oh no its not, no its not. Its a first date. Im sure that nothing is gonna (as she is talking we see Ross close his drapes.)
Eric: Not really. You youre blurry, but you still look like Ursula. Youre Blursula. Okay wait. Maybe If I-if I just dont look at you for a while. (Stands up and turns his back to her.) See? It it works. Im not, Im not angry at all anymore! This is a great date!
Joey: Looks like that no date pact thing worked out.
[Scene: A Chinese Restaurant, Ross is there with his date.]
Ross: I know. A double blind date, and we both get stood up. What are the chances?
Ross: Hey guys, does anybody know a good date place in the neighborhood?
Ross: Well maybe it's cold in there. Or maybe I screwed up the first date I had in 9 years.
[Scene: Outside Danny's apartment, Danny and Rachel are returning from their date.]
Joey: So that if we went out on a date, shed be there.
[Scene: A restaurant, Phoebe and Jim are on their date.]
Phoebe: 'Cause he was creepy, and mean, and a little frightening... alright, still, it's nice to have a date on Valentine's Day!
Phoebe: I have a date with this diplomat I met while I was giving free massages outside the UN and, I dont know where his country is.
Chandler: I understand: who would cancel an actual date to go to a fake bachelor party?
Ross: Second date!
[Scene: The Hallway between the apartments, Joey, Janine, Chandler, and Monica are returning from a double date. Chandler is telling a joke.]
Chandler: Hey, we haven't been on a second date, she needs to hear me pee?
Rachel: Would you excuse me, please? I'm trying to have a date here.
[Scene: Central Perk, Chandler and Ross are there, Phoebe is entering with her date Robert.]
Rachel: Pheebs, I can't believe he hasn't kissed you yet. I mean God, by my sixth date with Paolo, I mean he had already named both my breasts! ...Ooh. Did I just share too much?
Phoebe: Yeah, but, y'know, it's... it would be like starting on the fifteenth date.
[Scene: Monica and Rachel's Balcony, Rachel is having drinks with her date, Carl.]
Cliff: Cant you figure that out based on my date of birth?
Ross: So, I'm guessing you had an extra ticket and couldn't decide which one of you got to bring a date?
ROSS: Oh, oh, you're... uh... you're, oh you're the date.
RACH: Yeah... I, uhh... I have a... I have a date.
RACH: What? What is so strange about me having a date?
JOEY: Woah, woah, woah, you have a date?
[Scene: A nice restraunt. Rachel is on her date with Michael (MICH).]
MICH: I don't know if Monica told you but this is the first date I've gone on since my divorce so, if I seem a little nervous, I am.
RUSS: Yeah, I'm her date.
ROSS: A date.
RACHEL: OK, OK, that is my favorite sweater, that is my third date sweater.
ROSS: Who's Richard Burke? Doc, Doctor Burke? You have a date with Doctor Burke? Why, why, why should that bother me? I, I love that man, he's like a uh, brother to dad.
RACHEL: I can't go to my own prom without a date, I can't, it's too late.
ROSS: What? You have a date? Who with?
PHOEBE: You're not the only one who has a date tonight.
RACHEL: I know, I just didn't want to wear my glasses on my first date.
MONICA: This is so wild. Ya know, I gotta admit, I was kinda surprised that you agreed to go on a blind date.
RACHEL: God, oh God Monica, I forgot. This is our first date.
RACHEL: It is our first official date. Our first date.
PHOEBE: Yeah ok, well at least I didn't let some guy into the forest of my righteous truth on the first date.
Monica: Well, theres a lot to think about. I mean, how is she, how is she going to handle this financially? How is she going to juggle work? Does she realize shes not going to have a date again for the next eighteen years?
Richard: Oh, (laughs) that was the blind date that I told you about, she called and switched it to today.
MONICA: I can't believe this, just like 2 weeks ago I was watching Sudden Death, now I'm on a date with Jean-Claude Van Damme. Can you beat up that guy? [he nods] Can you beat up that guy?
JOEY: See, this is why I don't date women who read. Uh-oh.
Rachel: Oh man! This is so great! I actually feel like Im going on a real date! Although, I have a hint of morning sickness, and Im wearing underwear that goes up to about (She snaps the waistband on her underwear that is just slightly below her breasts) there.
Monica: We have to do this. We are playing for women everywhere. Okay, just think about every lousy date that you ever had, okay, every guy who kept on the TV while youre making out...
Chandler: Oh, uh, I... don't... care. (Joey's date shows up) Ok, now, remember, no trading. You get the pretty one, I get the mess.
(Chandler's date walks in)
Joey: Well uh, I wanted to have a few beers, but uh, I got rid of those because Rachel couldnt stand the smell of them. But I have thrown back a lot of orange juice with calcium though. And uh, its a couple weeks past its expiration date, so its got a bit of a kick.
RACHEL: OK, you know what, are, are you being like, the blind date guy again?
Chandler: Oh really? Uh, Monica said she had a date at 9:00.
Ross: Wow! It actually is in the handbook. I cant date you or have a hot plate in my office. I cant believe we have to stop seeing each other.
Richards Date: Were still on this side of the door.
Monica: I guess theyre back from their date.
Monica: So ah, Phoebe, how was your date?
Rachel: You have a play date with a stripper?!
Cynthia: I can't believe you thought that you were going to video tape us having sex on the first date! (She storms away and Rachel enters to confront Joey.)
Richards Date: Oh, thats real pretty. Wait a minute, dont I get to see the bedroom?
Monica: Hey Gunther. Hi. (to Phoebe) I mean youre going out on a date with the noisy guy upstairs?
[Scene: Central Perk, Robert is picking up Phoebe for a date.]
Richards Date: Well, I just wanted to see where you lived. Now, give me the tour.
Richards Date: Impressive.
Richards Date: Yeah, but I didnt get to see it.
Ross: Hey, howd the date go with Mr. Millionaire?
Monica: So umm, how was your date with Ginger?
Ross: I know, I know I really like you too. But we-we cant date. Its against the rules. Its forbidden.
Rachel: Come on Phoebe, look at that! They are not breaking up, look at them. Okay thats, you know what that is? That is a, that is a second date, thats what that is! Look at that, she just put her hand on his thigh...
Chandler: Thats what you say at the end of a date.
Phoebe: Like a date type (looks at Rachel) person?
Rachel: Okay, I need a date! (runs to her bedroom)
Phoebe: (to her date) Okay, and then this is the coffee house. This is where I play my music. (points to the stage)
[Scene: A Street, Phoebe is walking with her second date, Jason.]
[Scene: A Restaurant, Monica and Chandler are on their date with Janice and Clark, however Clark is a no show and Janice is crying the Mississippi River about it.]
Rachel: (laughs and pushes the chair back in) Yeah, well, y'know umm No honey, listen I think it's a great idea to become friends with someone before you date them, but I think the way you do it is y'know you meet someone, become their friend, build a foundation, then you ask them out on a date. Don't hit on your existing friends!
Joey: Ah, can I just say I know we're doing this for Ross, and that's cool, but if it was up to me, this is not what we'd be doing on our first date.
Phoebe: Well look, if I wanted to see a fireman, I would date one. Okay? (she drags him away)
Phoebe: Okay, you can totally say no, but umm, would it be okay with you if I set Ross up on a date?
[Rachel comes out of her apartment, followed by Mark, and they leave on their date, without saying a word to Ross. Ross is stunned.]
BEST MAN: (standing up) Yo! Can I have your attention, please, Best Man, making a toast here. Thank you. (clears throat, and starts reading his toast) I remember when Barry got home from his first date with Rachel...
[cut to Monica opening the door of the beach house, with Chandler trying to pick her up for a date.]
Chandler: Okay! Okay! Let me try it again, youre gonna wanna date this next guy, I swear!
Kathy: I'm sorry, you're right, I apologize, but I should tell you that I'm waiting for a date. (Joey enters) Oh, and there he is now.
Monica: Alright. I'm gonna go change, I've got a date.
Rachel: (to Monica) So, how was your date?
